AUTHENTIC AND
SPIRITED
PICOSTUDIO is a Calgary-based multidisciplinary design practice working at human scales, with experience in the fields of architecture, art installation, and industrial design. We offer design services as well as project management for clients who desire a more integrated approach to ensure that the design intent remains intact through project completion. We also have the capacity to build smaller commissions of objects and furniture in-house (which we really enjoy).
We pride ourselves on working closely with our clients and stakeholders to deliver projects that meet their requirements and exceed their expectations. We like to get to know our clients as whole people with needs, desires, fears, and ambitions. Relationships built on trust and open dialogue are the foundation to good design and are central to our working process. We collaborate with people and organizations who are looking for new and different approaches to design problems and who are not afraid of a little play and experimentation. Past clients and collaborators include Alberta Ballet, TELUS Spark, and Beakerhead, as well as private individuals.
Vlad Amiot is the designer behind PICOSTUDIO. Vlad obtained his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Manitoba, where he received the American Institute of Architects Medal upon graduation. Vlad has a passion for the conceptual and theoretical side of architecture and has been involved at the University of Calgary’s School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape in the capacities of Sessional Instructor for architecture studio and Guest Critic for student reviews. He also enjoys building and getting his hands dirty, and you can often find him experimenting with craft and obsessing over details in his expanding workshop.
